Celebrating one aspect of Malaysia’s multi-cultural heritage behind exotic masks
The Malaysia International Mask Festival will be held on the 14, 15 and 16 August 2015 at Esplanade KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur from 9am to 11pm respectively. It is an event that highlights the uniqueness of masks as prop performances in various cultural arts of the country.
The festival will see the involvement of all major races in Malaysia including indigenous people and the Sabah and Sarawak society, culminating in the venue to preserve and share the artisanal concepts and significance of masks in their performances and escapades.
Visitors can expect several events during the festival, which include masquerade catwalk, face painting, helmet painting, fantasy mask performances, making your own mask, and showcases of masks from Italy, China, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia.
320 participants from all over the world such as Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Thailand, China, Italy, Australia and New Zealand will be participating in the festival as well.
