Local Delights To Break Fast
For the upcoming Ramadhan fasting month, Four Points by Sheraton Puchong takes diners on a nostalgic tour across Malaysia’s favourite dishes with its Selera Nostalgia buffet dinner. From 27 May to June 24, tuck into over a hundred local selections, including spring chicken with briyani spices, beef stew in coconut cream, Malaysian oxtail soup, prawn and curry noodles, and more. The cosy kampung setting evokes memories of quaint village life. Look out for the chef’s Nasi Kandar, featuring delicious side dishes like fried chicken, crabs, prawns and squid, alongside lamb kurma and fish curry.

The chefs at The Cobalt Room at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur will be cooking up a stellar showcase of signature dishes representative of the 13 states in Malaysia and in addition to that, Middle Eastern specialities. The exquisite buffet experience will see flavourful signature dishes such as Asam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri from Malacca, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak from Pahang, Laksa from Kedah, Nasi Kerabu from Terengganu and Penang Rojak. The decadent dessert counter will feature classics for further indulgence and that include Kek Lapis Sarawak, Talam Pandan Sabah, and Cik Mek Molek from Kelantan as well.

From 26 May to 24 June 2017, The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s ‘Menikmati Aneka Juadah di Saujana’ is ready to dish out a smorgasboard of flavours at its casual dining outlet, Charcoal. Starring a well-rounded mix of traditional local delicacies as well as Western and Japanese eats, this exquisite buffet spread is passionately put together by the hotel’s team of chefs. Lobster Briyani Gam
Pince & Pints is back with its authentic Johorean Lobster Briyani Gam and Buzzy Bandung for Ramadhan. The outlet is re-introducing the mouth- watering combination specifically for the festive period. The Lobster Briyani Gam at Pince & Pints, is made with a recipe that dates back to the 1880s and is served with acar rampai, a pickled salad of carrots, shallots, cucumbers and chillis. To be paired with the tantalizing Lobster Briyani Gam dish is Buzzy Bandung, a rose syrup concoction made with evaporated milk and topped with ice cream soda for a velvety, vanilla finish.
Feast On Local Flavours
The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur will be presenting a number of festive menus during the fasting season. From 25 May to 25 June, a Festive Variety Dinner will be held at Contango, which will feature two open kitchens serving a wide choice of western and Asian dishes as well as perennial local delicacies such as Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Sambal Ikan Bakar and Kambing Kerutub. For tantalising traditional delights, the Majestic Festive Banquet will feature more than a hundred classic Malay recipes. The spread will be headlined by Nasi Minyak Jentayan, Udang Goreng Berempah Pulau Mutiara, Sambal Bilis Cek Mek Molek and Acar Buah Senandung Malam.
