Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s club lounge launched by Celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Malaysian partners
Award-winning celebrity Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa (known fondly around the world simply as ‘Nobu’), made his first official visit to Nobu Kuala Lumpur recently. This occasion was commemorated by the official opening of the chic Nobu Club Lounge by Nobu Matsuhisa together with Nobu Kuala Lumpur partners, His Royal Highness The Sultan of Selangor DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj, and Tan Sri Syed Mohd Yusof Tun Syed Nasir.
Around 100 of the city’s movers and shakers, celebrities, corporate personalities and style icons were invited to the opening ceremony where Nobu’s signature cocktails and bar bites were showcased. Marked by a traditional ribbon cutting and lion dance, guests enjoyed a special moment when the Nobu Kuala Lumpur partners and management team presented a surprise birthday cake to Chef Nobu who celebrated his 66th birthday.
This occasion marked Chef Nobu’s first visit to Kuala Lumpur. “I can feel the vibrant energy of this city at Nobu Kuala Lumpur. The people here are global travellers and appreciate quality in details, and our location is beautiful. I am confident that Nobu Kuala Lumpur will be a successful venture as our first Nobu restaurant in Southeast Asia,” remarked Chef Nobu.
The Nobu group of restaurants was first introduced in 1994 with the opening of the original Nobu in New York. Since then, Nobu has received Michelin Stars and other illustrious global culinary awards. Nobu currently has 32 restaurants worldwide, with Nobu KL, spanning 12,000 square feet, being the first Nobu in Southeast Asia.
Located on Level 56 of Menara 3 Petronas in KLCC, the restaurant is Nobu's highest altitude restaurant in the world! It is open for lunch Mondays to Fridays (12noon to 2pm daily) and for dinner Mondays to Saturdays (6pm to 10.30pm daily).
