Adventure World, theme park publicly shows new born Panda and asks the public to name her
Adventure World, a theme park featuring “Contact with Humans, Animals and Nature” in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, western Japan, is publicly seeking the name of a female giant panda born on September 18 while showing her and her mother.
The baby panda has been growing steadily, receiving mother Rauhin's lavish love. In view of smooth parenting, as seen with the baby steadily gaining weight, Adventure World has opened the mother and baby to the public, starting Oct. 1.
The viewing is currently being held from 9.45am to 10.05am and 2.40pm to 3pm daily. Both mother Rauhin and her baby are shown together and visitors will be able to see how the mother panda rears her baby. Time for public opening may change as the baby giant panda grows. Opening may be altered or cancelled depending on the physical condition of the mother and baby.
The park is also asking the public to name the giant panda in hope that the baby will grow into a giant panda loved by the public. The naming competition is being held until 30th November 2016 and the public are invited to enter their suggestions by filling it in on tablet or printed form available at the park or online and fill in the form “Panda Baby's Name Sought” or send in a postcard as well.
Adventure World will appoint a panel for choosing the baby panda's name from applications and the theme park will make the announcement at the park and on the website.
A total of 1,400 animals, of 140 land, marine and aerial species, live at Adventure World, a theme park with “Contact with Humans, Animals and Nature” as its motto, located in Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture, at the southern tip of the warm Kii Peninsula.
