There’s a new tourist attraction in Vietnam – and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
This is Cau Vang, literally the Golden Bridge – a 150-metre-long pedestrian bridge located in the Ba Na Hills Resort near Da Nang, Vietnam.
Sitting at 1,400 metres above sea level, the unique structure consists of two giant stone hands that seem to sprout out of the earth, supporting a slim golden bridge within its cusp.
The bridge was opened in June this year and was designed to connect the cable car station to the resort’s flower gardens, providing visitors with a scenic lookout point of the surrounding landscape.
Designed by a local architecture company, TA Landscape Architecture, the idea was to evoke the image of the “giant hands of God, pulling a strip of gold out of the land,” according to Vu Viet Anh, the company’s Design Principal.
Since its opening, the bridge has been drawing crowds by the thousands. It is also fast becoming a popular place for wedding photoshoots.
Aside from the bridge, the resort also has a medieval French village complete with squares and a cathedral, hotels, as well as attractions such as a shrine and a wax museum.
