Purpose begins with connection and its legacy continues through collaboration
A new year begins quietly and thoughtfully. In boardrooms, offices, ministries and campuses, plans are already taking shape. Yet, before the nextidea takes flight, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) pauses to give thanks to the organisers, partners and visionaries who helped make 2025 a year of purposeful gatherings that moved ideas, industries and communities forward.
Together with Business Events Sarawak (BE Sarawak), Sarawak Tourism Board, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau and our many government and industry allies, BCCK continues to serve as a meeting place between ambition and authenticity, where every conversation has the potential to leave something lasting behind.
Among the many meaningful initiatives this past year was KIND Borneo, a programme led by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) and held alongside Legacy 360 hosted by BE Sarawak. The initiative brought together local NGOs, industry partners and potential sponsors under one roof, creating space for heartfelt stories, fresh collaborations and community-driven impact. It reflected a growing truth in Sarawak’s business events ecosystem – when people meet here, connections deepen beyond business and purpose becomes shared.
The year ahead will bring stories of science, energy and human progress, from the World Polymer Congress and the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference to the Asian Conference on Occupational Health, each drawing the world to Kuching’s riverfront to exchange knowledge that can shape a better tomorrow.
As preparations advance for BCCK2, the centre’s riverside expansion set to open in 2028, BCCK remains guided by one simple truth: events are never just about gathering. They are about building understanding, creating opportunity and leaving a trace of meaning that endures beyond the applause.
