Just a couple of hours away from Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh – a city shaped by its tin-mining boom – brims with history, culture and adventure. Looking for a weekend escape just in time for the school holidays? Here are our tips.
Where to stay. Opened in January 2025, AC Hotel Ipoh injects fresh energy into Perak’s capital. Today, it’s a lively hub filled with Ipoh’s best eateries, trendy cafés and dessert havens. Street artists have infused new life into the lane with vibrant murals, creating Insta-worthy photo ops at every turn.
