Costa Cruises marks its 10th Anniversary in Asia
Costa Asia celebrated being the first international cruise company to reach the 10th anniversary milestone in Asia. Since its maiden Asia voyage in July 2006, Costa Asia has achieved a number of industry firsts. It was the first international cruise company to deploy year-round homeport cruises in Asia. To date, it has served two million passengers in the Asian markets.
The cruise company though isn’t resting on its laurels as they are set to welcome new vessels to the fleet. Costa Asia will welcome the arrival of Costa neoRomantica in 2017, and in 2019 and 2020, two newly built 4,200 berth vessels specifically designed for the Asia market. In addition, leading German cruise brand AIDA Cruises will also join Costa Asia in 2017 by stationing a ship in Asia year-round for the first time.
Costa Asia is also extending its port of calls in the region with new Penang departures as well. Between October 2016 and January 2017, the Costa Victoria will call at Singapore, Phuket in Thailand, as well as Malacca, Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia for itineraries ranging from three to five nights.
To enhance accessibility and convenience, guests based in Malaysia will be able to embark and disembark at Penang for departures in October and November 2016. This will enable them to enjoy the unique “Italy at Sea” cruising experience right at their doorsteps.
