After a comprehensive multi-million dollar facelift, Going Places checks into the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur to see for ourselves the improved experiences for guests.
Room inventory has increased to 398 after renovations, refreshed with a contemporary look and modern new furnishings. Much thought has been put into ensuring guests are comfortable: our Club King room boasted excellent views of the city skyline, with a spacious bed offering the hotel’s famous Sheraton Signature Sleep experience in the form of firm but cosy mattresses, luxurious linens and feather soft pillows. A walk-in-closet – a rarity in most hotels – allow for plenty of space to keep luggage and belongings. A convenient addition to the room is the USB outlets, so travelers can do away with purchasing a travel adaptor.
Also sporting refreshed interiors are the hotel’s acclaimed dining venues – Chinese restaurant Celestial Court, Italian restaurant Villa Danieli, as well as The Pavilions Lounge & Bar. For a spectacular view of KL Tower (it looks especially lovely at night), head up to the redesigned Club Lounge on the 38th floor. Fitness enthusiasts can make use of the well equipped 24-hour gym, which is located just next to the Mandara Spa. Alternatively, take a dip in the pool on the 5th floor or chill at one of the poolside cabanas.
Number of rooms: 398
What stood out: Sweeping marble staircases leading all the way up to the ballrooms from the lobby; perfect for grand, unforgettable weddings and events
What we love most: Villa Danieli’s beautiful interior and authentic Italian food transports guests to the rustic regions of Tuscany. Also, wood-fired pizza.
