Hospitality group Samadhi Retreats is set to unveil a new luxury travel experience with the opening of Villa Samadhi Singapore. Opening January 5 2017, it will be the group’s Hirst hotel in Singapore, and the group’s third property, expanding upon a hospitality portfolio that includes Japamala Resort in Tioman Island, Villa Samadhi Kuala Lumpur and the group of Tamarind Restaurants in Malaysia and Singapore.

Perched amidst the vibrant greenery of the Labrador Nature Reserve, Villa Samadhi Singapore is housed in a heritage 20th century colonial garrison. Designed to be reflective of its heritage and history, which pays a tribute to the elegant charm of old Malaya, a joyous assembly of aesthetic and pragmatic designs complement the tropical surroundings beautifully.

Villa Samadhi features 20 alluring chambers that are furnished in perfect harmony with its colonial architecture, offset against the period’s blue and white china. Several rooms have sweeping walkways and all look out to views of towering trees and wildlife. The hotel is complemented by Tamarind Hill, which serves 100 traditional and modern Thai dishes created from heirloom recipes.

Samadhi Retreat’s signature is its careful selection of its properties, a process that involves a ‘Hine-tooth combing’ of the region to uncover a property special enough in its location and character. Villa Samadhi Singapore is the third property in this collection, the Hirst being Japamala Resort, which opened in 2004 and Villa Samadhi Kuala Lumpur, which opened in 2011.
