Malaysia Asian Group crew members Farah Azlli and Mohd Yazid bin Yusof and give us a glimpse into a day in their life in the skies and share what inspired them to join Malaysia Airlines

From childhood awe to leading the cabin with pride, Farah Azzli shares how her journey with Malaysia Airlines turned a childhood fascination into a fulfilling career – kebaya and all.
Being a Malaysia Airlines cabin crew member was a dream I never thought would come true. Today, I am not just a stewardess but a leading stewardess at Malaysia Airlines – something beyond my wildest dreams. Sometimes, I have to remind myself that this is exactly what I’ve always dreamed about.
I remember being a little girl, travelling with Malaysia Airlines, mesmerised every time I saw a stewardess onboard. Fast forward to today, I proudly don the iconic Malaysia Airlines kebaya. And every now and then, when I see a little girl looking at me the same way I once did, it humbles me.
Festive holidays are my favourite time to work because I get to see families in high spirits, travelling back to their hometowns to celebrate with loved ones. Knowing that I’ve provided the best of Malaysian Hospitality to our guests is an incredibly rewarding feeling, making me feel fulfilled when I return home to my own family.

With nearly three decades in the skies, Mohd Yazid bin Yusof reflects on a career built on passion, resilience and pride. From childhood dreams to leading steward, he lets us in on what it truly means to call the sky your home.
I grew up watching airplanes fly across the sky, imagining what it would be like to be up there myself. Becoming a cabin crew member was always a dream, and today, I am living it to the fullest. My name is Mohd Yazid bin Yusof, your leading steward, and on 16 April, I will proudly celebrate 29 incredible years with Malaysia Airlines. Please remain seated as I take you on a trip into a day in the life of a cabin crew member.
A career in the sky is often seen as glamorous and filled with free travel but trust me – it’s so much more than that. It’s not just about serving meals and sharing smiles. Jetlag, irregular hours and climate changes are our nemeses, but they never change who we are – the frontliners of every flight. From pre-flight briefings to ensuring a smooth landing, the safety and comfort of every passenger remains our top priority, because Malaysian Hospitality begins with us.
Being a cabin crew member is a demanding yet fulfilling career. It requires professionalism, meticulousness and an unwavering dedication to safety. But for those who love travelling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, it is one of the most exciting and rewarding jobs in the world. For most, the sky is the limit – but for us, the sky is home.
