Pavilion Kuala Lumpur launches the Hinamatsuri festival with Japanese pop sensation, YanaKiku
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur launched the Hinamatsuri festival, also known as the Japanese Doll Festival at the mall's very own Japanese-centric precinct, Tokyo Street at level 6. The festival, traditionally celebrated to bless good fortune and health to Japanese girls, is being emulated for the very first time in Pavilion KL. In line with the event, Tokyo Street features an exhibition of Japanese dolls, as well as performances and workshops for shoppers throughout the event's duration, which is 9 to 22 March 2015.
Japanese pop duo YanaKiku made an appearance as part of the officiating ceremony for the Hinamatsuri festival at Pavilion KL alongside Kung Sun Ai, Director of Marketing for Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Kazunobu Michijima, Director General of PROMIC. YanaKiku also performed one song, 'YanaKiku no Enban', from their latest album.
In conjunction with the festivities, Pavilion KL is also inviting 10-time Kendama champion, Yusuke Ito to perform the classic Japanese cup-and-ball game in extraordinary feats. The performance will be held at Tokyo Street on 22 March 2015, at 4pm and 6pm, and is open to all shoppers.
Throughout the Hinamatsuri festival, shoppers will also receive a limited edition Japanese wooden Kokeshi doll, with a minimum spending of USD82 at Tokyo Street or USD272 mall-wide. Pavilion KL is also running an Instagram contest where shoppers can stand a chance to win a USD27 (RM100) shopping voucher when they post a picture of the Kokeshi doll with #OhMyKawaii hashtag on Instagram.
