Tired of waiting for hours to see a healthcare professional? Doctor2U app minimises waiting time by over 50%
In partnership with Doctor2U
Whether it’s food, groceries or commutes around major Malaysian cities, the on-demand model has become a part of daily life. Now, Doctor2U is successfully applying that model to healthcare, transforming an essential service with new tech. TechWire Asia reports that Doctor2U has effectively minimised waiting time by a whopping 54%!
The promise? See a doctor or medical professional, in the comfort of your home, in 60 minutes.
The healthcare expert is in – always
The pandemic may have been the catalyst for telemedicine’s rapid growth, but experts say it’s here to stay. Doctor2U app allows users to schedule a video consultation and live chat with licensed medical professionals and specialists who can make diagnoses and offer solutions for common infections, illnesses, minor injuries or skin conditions and other non-life-threatening ailments.
And for those who need to see a professional without leaving home, the app also offers house calls from doctors who are available when the request is made. These options are essential for many, particularly senior citizens, families with young children or immunocompromised people, as it limits exposure to others for non-critical appointments.
Paving the way for integrative healthcare
But there’s much more to Doctor2U than one-off consultations. The healthcare “superapp” works with medical practitioners across Malaysia to provide you with long-term monitoring and services.
Not only is it completely hassle-free to book an array of health screening and specialist services, Doctor2U is also a trusted online marketplace that retails for various healthcare services, such as CT scan and health screenings. And thanks to partnership with Lovy Pharmacy and other healthcare suppliers, you can also purchase medical and wellness accessories such as supplements, MDA-approved COVID-19 self-test kits, first-aid kits, surgical masks, gloves and many other items.
Most recently, Doctor2U has gone one step further and introduced an integrative healthcare solution via the Health Wallet feature. The Health Wallet allows you to view your personal genome map, store and manage e-medical reports, as well as sync health data from your smartphone with Apple Health and Google Fit. This means you can share your health data, recent consultations, prescription history and lab results with doctors, who can then take a holistic approach when advising you.
Promoting preventative healthcare
In addition to diagnosing and treating illness and health conditions, the Malaysian superapp is fully committed to preventive health and wellness as well. For example, the new Health Wallet’s DNA testing tells you everything from your ancestry to your disease risks. This personalised information empowers you to take better control of your health, starting from your diet and lifestyle choices, and minimise the risk of future issues. Women can also use the app to track their menstrual cycles.
Adding another crucial convenience to the list, the Doctor2U app and website allows you to book your preferred COVID-19 test online. Choose to take an RT-PCR or professional RTK at your preferred BP Outlet, or in the comfort of your home via house call. For an even faster yet accurate COVID-19 screening test, Doctor2U offers a virtual professional RTK Antigen test via the Doctor2U mobile app where you are connected to and supervised by a certified doctor as you perform the test. You will receive the report within an hour and your MySejahtera app will be updated within 24 hours.
COVID-19 screening made easy at KLIA and klia2
Doctor2U’s convenient COVID-19 screening extends to the airport too. With Malaysia’s borders and the larger ASEAN region reopening to travellers, the need for easy, fuss-free RT-PCR and RTK Antigen Test appointments remains present.
BP Healthcare and Doctor2U offer COVID-19 testing services for anyone flying in and out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2). For updated information on airport screening facility locations please visit the list here.
In operation since September 2021, the screening centres offer travellers with three types of COVID-19 tests – Regular or Quick RT-PCR tests and the RTK Antigen Test – all with quick turnaround times.
- RT-PCR (Quick) – 1.5 hours
- RT-PCR (Regular) – 3 hours
- RTK Antigen test – 15 minutes
Passengers can pre-purchase their COVID-19 test from Doctor2U mobile app or website (https://airport.doctor2u.my). The results are sent out digitally via email, WhatsApp and through the Doctor2U app.
Taking data privacy seriously
While digital healthcare has made things easier, the privacy of medical records remains an important concern. Doctor2U makes data safety its top priority and all personal data is carefully stored. Additionally, not every provider on the app has access to your data as data is released on a need-to-see basis only to the necessary healthcare provider.
With care for data privacy and solid tech underpinning its offering, it’s easy to see why Doctor2U is recognised by Singapore’s Ministry of Health. This makes it that much easier to hop across to the Little Red Dot as COVID-19 screening tests done at any BP outlet can be quickly verified via a QR code in the app.
And as travel picks up and more people take that long-awaited vacation, you can even have your medical records with you – minus the tedious paperwork.
