World’s first underwater nightclub re-emerges as a subaquatic playground
The world's first underwater nightclub, Subsix by PER AQUUM is reinventing itself one step further by evolving its clubbing features into a complete underwater playground. Subsix is set to become a creative space that can be transformed into whatever guests imagine it to be, such as organising private champagne breakfasts or engaging in midnight proposals in the underwater venue.
Located 500 metres offshore at PER AQUUM Niyama in the Maldives, Subsix can be reached via speedboat. Upon arrival, guests will experience an array of creative concepts imprinted onto its interior where bizarre designs and textures are employed, paying homage to the feeling of being undersea. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows peer into the ocean bed where guests can observe the 90 and more coral reef species including the dense marine life that are attracted to the specially designed reef structures.
Among the many activities hosted by Subsix, marine biologist-led immersions into aquatic life give guests an expert’s insight into the rich environment and its secrets. Other highlighted activities in the re-styled venue include subaquatic lunches, gourmet dinners, weddings, hosted events, wine tastings, a weekly Glow Party and DJ nights to carry on the tradition of its birth as a pioneering underwater club.
“Subsix is the closest you can get to the reef without a mask or a wetsuit. Guests fell so in love with the setting from the start that we knew we had hit on something special and had to take it to the next level,” said Dietmar Koegerl, General Manager of PER AQUUM Niyama.
New activities in Subsix will be innovated over time and in response to valued opinions of PER AQUUM’s jet set guests. For more information visit niyama.peraquum.com/dining/Subsix/
