Suunto has launched new versions of its popular dive watch D4i Novo. While the features stay the same, the timepiece now comes in fresh shades of Sakura, Ocean and Morning. Some of the D4i Novo's handy functionalities include three dive modes (air, nitrox and free), full watch functions and dive planner. It can also be connected to a computer for use with the Suunto Dive Manager, and comes with an online community function.
What A View
The Gear 360 from Samsung is a dust- and splash-resistant compact camera capable of filming videos in 360 degrees. Slightly smaller than a tennis ball and weighing 153g, it features two 15MP f/2.0 cameras powered by the brand’s own DRIMe5s image processor. Although only compatible with a selection of Galaxy smartphones (it allows for easy video editing once connected), the contents generated by the camera can be played back on any virtual reality headset.
The New Old
The Fujifilm X-Pro2 is a camera that mimics most of the control points and design accents of a 1960s camera. It nevertheless boasts a hybrid viewfinder capable of instantly switching between optical and electronic modes, plus an updated image sensor and processor. Other specs include 77 autofocus points, new ‘focus stick’ dedicated to focus point selection, more rugged shutter mechanism of up to 1/8,000sec and ISO settings from 200-12,800.
Designed For Kids
Toymail’s Talkies is a line of safe-for-kids ‘mobile phones’. Kids can use the plush toys to connect via Wi-Fi to any number of approved adults using voice messages sent to phones, or otherwise, to their friends’ Talkies. The company says the four-button interface found on the toy’s back is so straightforward that children as young as two years old will be able to operate it.
Pen To Phone
LG’s Stylus 2 is a 5.7-inch handset featuring a set of proprietary functions developed to enhance user experience. While Pen Pop toggles a popup menu when the stylus is removed to offer shortcuts, Pen Keeper prevents the stylus from being misplaced by displaying a message when the phone is detected as being in motion with the stylus bay empty. The phone even has a calligraphy pen font, allowing one to write as beautifully and decoratively as if using a fountain pen.
Just A Pet Away
Petcube is an interactive wireless pet camera that helps you stay connected to your pets when you are not at home. The system lets you watch, talk and play laser games with your dog or cat from anywhere around the world using your smartphone. You can even share access to your pet video cam with your friends, family or anyone else on the Petcube network.
