Cartier is embarking on a new adventure, opening its first Cambodian boutique in Siem Reap.
Following in the pioneering footsteps of the renowned Cartier brothers – Pierre, Louis and Jacques – the French luxury goods brand is expanding its horizons by opening its first boutique in Cambodia. Cartier’s chosen location is the DFS T Galleria Angkor in Siem Reap, close to the famous UNESCO-listed temples.
Cartier’s association with far-flung destinations began in the early 20th century, when the three brothers travelled to Russia. There, they not only found favour with the tsars and nobility but also found inspiration for a wealth of fascinating jewellery and objets d’art. Soon after, as the head of the Maison’s British branch, their younger brother Jacques cultivated ties with Indian maharajahs, and thus initiated a special relationship with India that has endured to this day.
Now, more than a century later, Cartier is venturing into a country that is fast becoming a prime destination for today’s travellers. The new Siem Reap boutique embodies the key style elements and decorative touches that make Cartier boutiques instantly recognisable worldwide and create a visually stimulating environment for customers.
The new store is divided into four distinct salons: Jewellery, Watches, Accessories and Diamonds. Eye-catching design details enhance the innate glamour and beauty of the pieces in each one, including a glass chandelier by Windfall, specially created display cases and cabinets in bronze-coloured wood and glass, silk curtains, warm wall treatments and golden furnishings.
