Root Remedies is a natural skincare brand taking the country by storm, with its high-quality ingredients and pared-down approach. The woman behind the brand is Sian Chiew, whose own glowing complexion inspires many to reach for the facial oils.
“Like many others, I tried many conventional skincare products on the market to varying results,” Sian tells us. “When I tried natural argan oil for the first time, I was absolutely amazed. My skin condition improved rapidly until it got to a point where it was the best it had ever been.
“At that time – and even today, actually – using oils as skincare was still difficult to accept for many Malaysians. So I decided to create a brand that sells high-quality natural products to educate and spread the amazing benefits of natural skincare.”
All of Root Remedies’ beautifully minimal products are manufactured and bottled in Malaysia, with ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. The cruelty-free line features products centered around natural ingredients and carries no synthetic chemicals.
“We hope to use more and more local ingredients in the future and are working towards that goal all the time,” Sian says. “Our Virgin Coconut Pure Oil is produced and grown in Malaysia, and we’re really proud of the quality of our local suppliers.”
