Bali’s southern tip offers everything a holidaymaker wants for a memorable beach vacation
Fringed by the some of Bali’s best beaches and pristine cliffs, Jimbaran is fast becoming a hotspot for travelers looking to escape the stress of the world. Peaceful and tranquil, the area offers sun, sand, and sea along with memorable excursions that further exemplifies exciting Balinese holidays.
Jimbaran Bay
Arguably some of the best beaches can be found in Jimbaran Bay. The fine, white sand and the calm waters make it very suitable for swimming or working on your tan. Some areas also produce decent-sized waves that are perfect for light surfing. There are also clusters of seafood restaurants on the beach, which draws in diners come sunset.
Jimbaran fish market
One of the area’s oldest and busiest fish markets can be found on Jalan Tukad Ayung. The fish market supplies most of Bali’s top-end restaurants, and visitors can find an abundant variety of seafood and shellfish on sale here every morning. Fresh catches come in as early as 6am and there are also grill stations for visitors to cook their fresh purchases at the market itself.
The Rock Bar
Widely known as one of the most spectacular bars in Bali, the Rock Bar has been attracting droves of visitors ever since opening its doors. Offering expansive, unobstructed views of the ocean and coastline, the watering hole is nestled high above the ocean, making it the perfect place to savour a refreshing drink whilst catching one of Bali’s signature sunsets.
Uluwatu Temple
Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of six key temples believed to be Bali's spiritual pillars, is renowned for its magnificent location perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above sea level. This temple also shares the splendid sunset backdrops as that of Tanah Lot Temple, another important sea temple located in the island's western shores.
Paraglide Off Timbis
Jimbaran is home to two key paragliding areas. Paragliders converge unto Timbis and Gunung Payung from May to October to soar high above the cliffs. With steady winds and wide landing areas, Jimbaran offers some of the best paragliding experiences in Southeast Asia. There are operators in the area that also offer tandem flights, which are great for first time fliers to experience.
