Internet searches shows the trendiest destinations for the first quarter of 2015
Malaysia is blessed with holiday periods throughout the year, which fuel the opportunity for travels. While the school holiday season in March has just passed not too long ago, Google Trends recaps the top five destinations that are based on web searches toward the end of 2015's first quarter.
1. Pulau Rawa
Pulau Rawa or Rawa Island is coral island off the east coast of Johor, Malaysia. It's a popular tourist destination that features unspoiled white sand beaches, snorkelling, scuba diving, clear seawaters and exotic animals such as Malayan Sea Eagles and Blacktip Reef Sharks.
2. Koh Lipe
Koh Lipe is a small island situated in the Satun Province, Southwest of Thailand. Famous for scuba diving and snorkelling, there are many dive shops and resorts around the island that rent out snorkel gear and arrange boat trips for those who want to engage in the activities. It is also possible to walk around the entire island in about an hour.
3. Resorts World Genting
This extremely popular hill resort is located at an elevation 1,740 metres within the Titiwangsa Mountains on the border between the states of Pahang and Selangor of Malaysia. Many Malaysians visit this resort for a quick and easy weekend getaway or to indulge in the resorts many offerings such as casinoes, nightlife outlets, concerts and theatrical performances and theme park rides (which is currently under reconstruction).
4. Krabi
One of Thailand's most famous beach destinations, Krabi is said to be an important figure in the tourism industry of Thailand where it features many activities and sights for tourists. You can find scenic caves and waterfalls and go for kayaking, sailing, bird watching, snorkelling, trekking and participate in eco-tours.
5. Legoland
Malaysia's first international theme park has garnered the support of both locals and tourists alike at an impressive number since its establishment in 2012. Legoland houses over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions and is an absolute kid-favourite throughout its entirety. Legoland is located at Nusajaya, Johor, Malaysia.
