The Belmond luxury trains introduce special afternoon tea parties for travellers on board
The Belmond luxury trains, The Belmond British Pullman and Belmond Northern Belle will be serving two celebratory afternoon teas on board starting 20 June 2015 called the Afternoon Tea by Fortnum and Mason and the Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea Party respectively.
On board the Belmond British Pullman, Fortnum and Mason bring their traditional 'Afternoon Tea' that features the famous blend of teas along with champagne, sandwiches, cakes and scones – served within the historical Pullman dining carriages as the train sets off on a journey throughout the British countryside. Fortnum and Mason was founded in 1707 and with its royal patronage and legendary hampers, is famous for its choice of global teas.
The Belmond Northern Belle train will be offering The Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea Party, which celebrates 150 years of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland in 2015. Multi-coloured sandwiches, Queen of Hearts jam tarts and the Cheshire Cat scones alongside musicians and magicians pay homage to the popular fairytale as the train departs from various UK cities including Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh. The Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea Party will take place on 26 April 2015.
