Shop your kebayas, kurungs and kids’ Raya looks by your favourite Malaysian designers online
With Raya coming up, it’s time to give your closet a refresh with festive pieces to welcome the month of Syawal. While you might not be able to pop into your favourite designer’s brick-and-mortar boutiques right now, you can still easily shop at their online stores. Major perk: some of these stores even offer ‘virtual appointments’, should you need custom-tailoring. From Fern Chua’s Moroccan-inspired kaftans to Alia Bastamam’s latest collab with Scha Alyahya, take your pick from the stunning Raya 2020 collections by Malaysian designers below.
Fern Chua’s latest collection takes cues from the landscapes and culture of Morocco, inspired by a trip she took a year ago. Known for her creative reimagination of batik, Fern’s new ready-to-wear collection fuses traditional elements of the batik with Moroccan influences, as seen from the Moorish architecture and Islamic geometric motifs referenced in her designs.
